Some people hate sales, where the thought of asking for money makes them sweat… and then there’s me. I THRIVE on the chase of getting a client to say yes. Throughout my career, I have pushed myself to see what I could sell and how much of it I could sell.

I started my sales career at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario when I did a quick 60-second pitch about a book idea, snow-to’s, a laminated book that had step-by-step details on how to build different snow forts! This 60-second pitch landed me in a competition with 1550 other students across Canada where I represented IBM on a national stage and was one of 22 finalists that competed at the Google Headquarters in Toronto, Ontario.

From there I fell in love, and since then I have sold everything from Business Cards to Mortgages.

It started with a competition called the $5 Challenge at Trent University while I was a student there. Our team had $5, which we spent on two beers while brainstorming, and 5 days to make as much money as possible. We decided to sell by pre-order and we sold to everyone. Students, Professors, and local businesses including Bars. We were even on the 6 a.m. news with Global! We grossed $1700 of revenue… in 5 days.

The only way we were able to do this was to be determined to sell unapologetically and know what we were offering had value, and we were doing a disservice by not providing this product to people.
